rambling friday

coke zero
more ice than soda
the colder it is
the less you taste
white lighter
purple bowl
smoke swirls
around my face
phone's not ringing
i don't care
reach for me
there's nobody there
passed through
so many
places and times
city streets
concrete
to herb garden
wind chimes
moss beneath
my feet
cats and dogs
weddings
funerals
the gift of birth
flying above
soaring below
touching down
upon the earth
what can you say
that I haven't heard
can you prove emotion
without words
the house is clean
the laundry done
could it be
that you're the one
is there anyone
out there
who can see
the ocean floor
inside of me
run your fingers
where my sand
has rippled waves
explore my hills
my valleys
my ocean caves
can benjamin
sooth my aches away
should i only give
for which i get paid
picture of me
painting
the depths of my soul
all that glitters
is not gold
while natalie calms
with perfect words
smoke reaches out
to my rattled nerves
nothing but ice
remains in the glass
but the white lighter
will help you pass
