in the rain we can't see far ahead
as each drop of water splatters
small explosions on the windshield
and we try to brush them aside
to clear a path down the road
wipers scraping on tense glass
but it's never stopped me
from driving on this trip before
i know there is road beneath my feet
though it may be slippery, uphill
around the bend or down
it continues on to a point unknown
i can't see where or when or how
but it's not the rain the blinds me now
its the eastern sun waking up
if i cant see forever in the sun
i can only see the road beneath me
and the rain or sun that blocks my view
is a gift not malice in my life
im glad you don't mind travellin'
a sense of adventure is necessary
when you love a person like me
cause i can't see through the rain
and the blinding sun beholds me
so if we go ever onward
step by step, foot by foot
it would also be side by side
not one ahead or one behind
waiting for the sign through the water
splashing on my car
